This year, in anticipation of Dodge Center's Sesquicentennial next year, the June Bloom committee has taken over coordinating events on Father's Day Weekend, something we had been doing the last couple years here at the Star Herald.
The committee, now chaired by Dodge Center Librarian Ingvild Herfindahl with the help of Dodge Center's Community Development Liz Johnson, has named the event the June Bloom Summer Festival and has designed a new logo for it.
New features have also been added. This year, in addition to the Firemen's Cookout, the June Bloom Arts-in-the-Park and the Fly-In Breakfast, there will be Bingo, an artist doing portraits and an old car to paint on with supplied paints. The Star Herald is also sponsoring a City-Wide Garage Sale to help pull traffic into town for the festival.
