Roger Dean Jacobson, 75, of Hayfield passed away on September 7, 2017, at his home in Hayfield.
Roger was born on November 12, 1941, in Hayfield, the son of Orville and Marjorie (Janes) Jacobson. Roger graduated from Hayfield High School in 1959, and was united in marriage to Betty Yentsch on December 18, 1961, in Hayfield.
Roger was a butter maker in Blooming Prairie. Later he worked for Knutson Construction and Owatonna Manufacturing. For 27 years he managed the grain elevator in Sargeant and delivered parts for NAPA for 16 years. Thru out his career he farmed the family farm and raised hogs for many years. Roger enjoyed fishing on Leech Lake, gardening and spending time with his family.
Betty and Roger were foster parents for many years.
Roger is survived by his wife, Betty Jacobson, Hayfield; children, Linette (Gary) Heydt, Ventura, IA; Lou Ann (Jeff) Augustin, Cape Coral, FL; Dawn (Gary) Allen, Hayfield; Nathan (Leah) Jacobson, Las Vegas, NV; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; siblings, James (LaVonne) Jacobson, Rochester; Sharon (Buzz) Roberts, Hayfield,; Robert Jacobson, Rochester; Jon (Kim) Jacobson, Hayfield; and Shelley (Paul) Steger, Rochester. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Darcy Jacobson.
Visitation will be 2:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2017, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 Second Street NW in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church on Monday.
The memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 11, 2017, at the First Presbyterian Church, 109 Main Street East in Hayfield with Reverend Kirk Johnston officiating. Inurnment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.
