Lawrence W. Richardson

The funeral service for Lawrence W. Richardson, 77, of rural Kasson. will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday (December 29, 2017) at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Kasson with Rev. John Allen officiating. Burial will follow at East St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery in Rock Dell. Mr. Richardson died on Tuesday (December 19, 2017) of natural causes at his son's home in rural Kasson.

Lawrence W. Richardson was born April 28, 1939 in Stewartville to William and Bessie (Brackenbury) Richardson. He grew up in Stewartville and attended Stewartville schools. He worked for the next few years for Stewartville area farmers. Lawrence was married on April 28, 1939 at East St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Rock Dell to RoseAnn R. Seim. Following their marriage the couple lived in rural Rock Dell for a number of years before moving to Rochester and then Byron in 1965 where they raised their family and lived for over 20 years. Lawrence was employed for a number of years with the Caulfield Family farm operation in rural Byron. He then was employed for many years at 21st Century Genetics in Stewartville until his retirement. RoseAnn was a homemaker and was employed in housekeeping at Samaritan Bethany Heights in Rochester for many years until her retirement in 1999. The Richardsons moved to Stewartville in 1988. They both were members of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Kasson. Mrs. Richardson died on November 2, 2012. After his retirement Lawrence went back to work part-time for both Caulfields and 21st Century Genetics. Lawrence began spending time with his brother, Don in California and then coming back to Minnesota to be with his sons and their families. He enjoyed going to stock car races with family, followed NASCAR and the Vikes, he began woodworking in his retirement and enjoyed time spent with family, especially all of his grandchildren and great grandchidren.

Lawrence is survived by 4 sons - Dennis (Mary)of Kasson; Joe (Karen) of Byron; Keith (Jackie) of Byron and Randy (Michele) of Phoenix, AZ; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one brother - Donald Richardson of Sun City, CA and special friend - Clarkie Rambo of Sun City. He was preceded in death by his wife - RoseAnn, his son - Jeffrey, his parents and brother - Robert Richardson.

Friends may call from 4 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday (December 28, 2017) at Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville and one hour prior to the service at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Kasson on Friday morning. Arrangements are with Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville. www.griffin-gray.com
