The Bear Volleyball team came up short in a heart-breaking five set match in Cannon Falls on Sept. 26.
Byron came out strong, winning both of the first two sets 25-21, but the Bombers came back to take the next three sets holding the Bears to 16, 14, and 9 points.
"Cannon Falls played some incredible defense in the final three sets. It made for a really fun match." Coach Owen Hoegh said.
"It's tough to lose in five, and it definitely could have gone either way. It's the kind of match that will definitely make us better, and I'm confident that our whole team will respond that way," Hoegh said.
Ayoka Lee and Hailey Bahr led the Bear attack with 22 and 20 kills respectively. Allison Connelly fed them with her great sets and had a total of 53 set assists on the night.
Bahr also had 4 ace serves and Courtney Connelly had 2 aces.
On the defensive end, Lee had 6 ace blocks, and Bahr had 4. Bahr also had 21 digs, Taylor O'Donnell had 16, Allison Connelly had 12, Courtney Connelly and Lee each had 8 digs.
